A legacy of community leadership

Since our founding in 1879 by Sir James Aikins, MLT Aikins has been deeply involved in shaping our community and nation. Sir James Aikins not only founded the Canadian Bar Association but also served as the Lieutenant-Governor of Manitoba, earning a knighthood for his unwavering loyalty to public service.

We’ve continued to support key organizations like the Canadian Bar Association and contributed to local charities and educational initiatives across Western Canada. Today, our legacy continues with student scholarships and extensive volunteer efforts by our staff and lawyers. Our dedication to legal education and community well-being is at the heart of our firm’s values, driving positive change and fostering a culture of responsibility and inclusivity.
